This is the story of a man who, like his pioneer forebearers,
reached for his own frontiers in educational leadership during the historic time of the
1960's when the cultural foundations of America were challenged by rebellious young
people. "Take over," the dissidents yelled, "and we can control any
high school in the nation." It all came to a climax at the Happening at the
Flagpole."
